A few different impulses and ideas drove this material art and texturing showcase project.
On one hand, I have been interested in the alchemical, if not faustian, side of artistic creation, and in particular of 3D art. We are truly building a parallel, artificial, illusive world.
Artistically, I wanted to challenge myself with the study and the reproduction of the materials of an indoors environment inspired by the late Medieval or early Renaissance period. Moreover, I have always been fascinated by the classic depiction of alchemists in the apparent chaos of their workshops and its strong symbolism.
This project was created using Substance Designer, Substance Painter and Blender.
